Honeybees are vital pollinators and play a crucial role in our ecosystem, producing honey and supporting agriculture.
Honeybee colonies consist of three types of bees:
Queen: The sole reproductive female responsible for laying eggs and producing pheromones that regulate the hive's activities.
Workers: Female bees that perform various tasks, including foraging for nectar and pollen, caring for the queen's offspring, and maintaining the hive.
Drones: Male bees whose primary role is to mate with a queen.
Lifespan of a Honeybee: The queen can live for several years, while worker bees typically live for about 6 weeks during the active season. Drones have a shorter lifespan, usually around 55 days.
